- Quality is never an accident, it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, and skillful execution.
- The purpose of the learning academy is to provide a holistic approach to employee development: wellness, enrichment, rewards and recognition, and skill acquisition – technical, relationship,a nd skill development. For Faculty, we enhance teaching practice and support the professional development of GRCC faculty.
Small Group Discussions
- Faculty and LA staff had separate discussions around summarizing how the year went.
- 3 of Calvin College Teaching Learning Team staff joined us for lunch for some discussions around teaching and technology. (Travis LaFleur, Rob Bobledyk, Dan Christian)
- Lots of discussion around using the Bb Content System (for administrative and departmental document sharing), Community System (departments, clubs, committees), Help Desk (4 full time, 20 students), and how training, projects, etc. are managed at Calvin.
Small Group Discussion – LA Staff
- Being authentic, such as the MQA Report and how accurate that is.
- Being more deliberate about our Action Plans.
- Use more strategies to plan in advance instead of putting out fires.
- Managing culture more effectively by leading through example.
- Work of becoming a learning centered organization.
- Be more efficient about data collection, feedback, etc. on the Dashboard.
- Accountability and follow through with being purposeful about connecting work to the strategic plan.
